Get a reliable result in four checks
A browser preview tells you a lot, but your own player is the final word. Here's how to test like a release engineer.
Test in your real player
Load the file into the same SVGA player your app ships — SVGAPlayer for Android or iOS, or svgaplayer-web. That's the only true test of how a file behaves in your rooms.
Check every room theme
Switch the stage between light, dark, checker and phone to spot halos, hard edges or colours that disappear against your room background.
Mind the weight
Smaller files download and decode faster when a room is busy. Every product page lists the exact file size, frame rate and frame count before you buy.
Watch the loop seam
With looping on, watch the last frames flow into the first. Turn looping off to check that one-shot gifts end on a clean final frame.
Troubleshooting
When a file won't play
My file shows “SVGA 1.x file detected”
Older SVGA 1.x files are zip archives. This browser preview plays SVGA 2.x only. Many native players still read 1.x, but re-exporting as 2.x gives smaller files and wider support.
It says the file isn't a readable SVGA
The name ends in .svga but the data inside isn't SVGA — usually a renamed GIF, MP4 or Lottie file, or a download that didn't finish. Export it again from your SVGA tool.
It plays here but not in my app
Check your player version supports SVGA 2.x, that the file is bundled or downloaded completely, and that the view has a size. Grab one of the free files from the catalogue to compare against a known-good animation.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser and played from a temporary local link that's discarded when you remove it or leave the page. Nothing is sent to our servers.
